Celtic Faith Women’s short sleeve t-shirt

Celtic crosses like this one are common symbols of Irish culture. The ancient Druids were believed to worship their many gods at a large round stone. (They also gathered inside stone circles to conduct their ceremonies—think Stonehenge—but that’s a story for another shirt.) According to legend, when Saint Patrick converted the Irish to Christianity, he drew a large cross over the middle of the round stone to bless it. This action unified the two cultures by creating the Celtic cross, an enduring symbol of faith.

Then again, other theories suggest that the four corners of the cross represent the cardinal directions, or the elements of earth, fire, air, and water. Not a bad idea in the bunch.
